Several well known parks in New Zealand

If you love to walk in the park, New Zealand is the right place for you to go. There are several well-know parks in New Zealand.

Abel Tasman National Park is an area of 22,350 hectares. This park is a small costal park with un-spoilt golden beaches and their forested interiors are delightful at any time of the year. This park is a park for people of all ages, with coastal walking and camping, fishing, sailing, kayaking and inland tracks and caves. The coastal track is very popular in summer.

Talking about summer in New Zealand, there is another park that I should mention in here. Marlborough Sounds Maritime Park is one of New Zealand’s most popular summer holiday places, featuring drowned river valleys, island, sheltered inlets and sea. There are a lot of options to do in this park like fishing, boating, scenic cruises, sea kayaking, coastal camping, scenic and historic walks and tramping.

If you like to go to a large wilderness park with mountains, rivers and lakes then you should go to Kahurangi National Park in an area of 376.000 hectares.

There are many more parks in New Zealand but I will discuss it later in the next post.
